The three most important types of tools you will use,
other than your HTML editor, (I recommend Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 - Full version) are SEO (search engine optimization) tools,
a hit and status counter, an email generator. The tightwad that I am I
found all three for free!
For SEO tools I use SiteSolutions.com. They have a
whole list of tools you can use for free. You will find a few of these
tools you can use now at the bottom of this page.
For my hit counter I found statcounter.com.
Absolutely free to log the last 100 hits for analysis, yet counts
visitors, unique visitors, webpage loads, with no limit. StatCounter
organizes all this logged information into charts & lists to make
your analysis of your sites visitors, where they came from, where they
go, how long they stay, their browser and resolution, and more. Awesome!
